Choosing USB I/O for your application
A USB I/O module lets a PC application read digital signals and control outputs. The XUP01 series provides 8 digital inputs for 24 V DC and 8 outputs. Choose relay contacts or high-side semiconductor outputs to suit your application. Communication uses a virtual COM port.
Read the selection guideMatch the output type to the load
The XUP01R has relay outputs; the XUP01L has semiconductor outputs. Your load determines the choice: consider voltage, current, switching frequency and isolation requirements. Compare these with the specifications; the two output types are not interchangeable in every application.
Consider drivers and software
The virtual COM port requires suitable drivers. MFR Config is available for Windows, macOS and Linux; check driver support for your particular system separately. Protocol documentation and source code examples for your own applications are available through the support area.
Check signal levels and power requirements
The digital inputs are designed for 24 V DC. Check the supply and connection requirements in the manual before connecting signals. A USB connection does not by itself mean that all connected loads can be powered through USB.
