Choosing a D-Sub break-out module
D-Sub break-out modules connect pre-assembled D-Sub cables to fixed wiring inside a control cabinet. Signals are brought out to screw terminals so individual wires can be connected without soldering. Our modules have male and female D-Sub connectors wired in parallel and mount on TS15, TS35 and G32 rails.
Read the selection guideMatch the pin count and connector format
Choose 9, 15, 25, 37 or 50 pins to suit your cable. Pin count alone is not enough: check the shell size, contact arrangement and locking hardware against the specifications. A 15-pin D-Sub connector is not automatically compatible with every other 15-pin format.
Check terminals and electrical ratings
Compare the wire cross-section, current and voltage requirements with the selected module's ratings. A break-out module brings connections out to terminals; it is not a protocol converter and does not provide galvanic isolation.
Allow space on the mounting rail
Check the rail type and module dimensions, including clearance for the D-Sub connector and cable exit. The data sheet on each product page helps you plan installation and wiring.
